Problem Statement
Avlino is an eight-year-old AI company, based in New Jersey, that wanted to quickly scale its tech team when it approached Skuad in Feb 2021.
It had ambitions to grow rapidly and scale its tech team. They set a high bar for hiring engineering talent along with a suitable pay scale but could not find the right skilled engineers at a reasonable pay scale in the USA.

Understanding & scoping
The first step was to figure out an ideal location in India to build and grow a global tech team. Avlino wanted to narrow down to one city instead of multiple locations since they wanted to grow the team to 10 members within the year. Given the availability of tech talent, Bengaluru was the obvious location.
Efficient onboarding
1. For Avlino: Our dedicated CSM team helped Avlino understand Skuad’s platform and processes, and onboarded them seamlessly.
2. For their employees: We functioned as Avlino’s HR team in India, managing the hiring and onboarding process (including providing assets like laptops) end-to-end. We also automated the entire onboarding process for them.
Ongoing employment
Skuad manages the entire employment lifecycle of all full-time employees. We became the Legal Employer in India and helped them manage local compliances around payments, taxes and benefits.
